Of course, this has the side effect that you must discard the flash drive's data.
You can try the following fixes if your flash drive won't read by your laptop/ computer :
1. On your computer or laptop, try attaching the flash drive to a different USB port.
Occasionally a particular USB port is the source of the issue, and switching ports may assist.
2. To ensure that a damaged USB cable is not the source of the issue when connecting your flash drive through USB, consider replacing the cable with a new one.
3. If you're using a laptop, try taking out the battery and putting it back in after letting it sit out for a while. This can assist in resetting the laptop's hardware and resolving the issue.
4. Check to check whether your flash drive is detected but not usable by opening File Explorer. If so, choose "Properties" from the menu when you right-click on the flash. To verify and correct mistakes on the flash drive, click "Check" under "Error checking" on the "Tools" tab.
5. You can try using Windows' disk utility to fix your flash drive if it still won't read.
Choose "Disk Management" by pressing the Windows key and the X key on the keyboard. Locate your flash drive in the list of disks, then choose "Format" with the right click.
To format the flash drive, adhere to the directions. Remember that doing this will remove all of the flash drive's data.
Notes :
If the suggestions above don't help, your flash drive probably has to be replaced because of more significant damage.
