How to Reset the WhatsApp Desktop Application on Windows 11/10

The WhatsApp program is known as WhatsApp Desktop on the Windows operating system. Except for WhatsApp Multi Device, which needs you to be online on your smartphone before opening WhatsApp Desktop, the desktop version of WhatsApp contains practically all the functionality of the smartphone version.

Here are the steps to reset the WhatsApp Desktop app on Windows 11/10 :

1. Close the running WhatsApp Desktop application.

2. Right-click on the WhatsApp Desktop application icon on the taskbar and select "Close window".

3. Open Windows Settings by pressing the "Windows" + "I" key.

4. Click on "Apps" or "Applications and Features" in the settings menu.

5. Find and select the WhatsApp Desktop application in the list of installed applications.

6. Click on "Advanced options" or "Advanced Options".

7.Scroll down and click on "Reset" or "Reset app".

8. Click "Reset" on the confirmation window to indicate that you wish to reset the application.

9. Wait a few moments until the reset process is complete.

10. When finished, reopen the WhatsApp Desktop application and log in to your WhatsApp account.

Note:

Resetting the app will erase all user settings and preferences. This will restore the app to default settings. Make sure to back up chat history and other important files before resetting the WhatsApp Desktop app. If the app is still having issues after the reset, you can try reinstalling the app from the WhatsApp official website. 🔎
